Specialist Fine Art Consultants conducting investigations into the authenticity and legitimacy of international fine art.

Our vast international experience in processing in depth art authentication investigations and attribution research into Impressionist and Modern art for clients around the world, now surpasses 44 years.

 We are expert in undertaking professional academic and forensic investigations looking into the authenticity or otherwise of works of art.

This has included the great majority of the French and European Impressionists and exponents of; Post-impressionism, Fauvism, Cubism, abstract, German Expressionism and social realism, from the French, Dutch, Italian, Russian, Mexican, Austrian, Belgian and American Schools.

 As such, we are a unique team, specialising in authentication assignments which have fallen into clearly defined responsibilities, client services and categories we can help you with. Including;

  • Authentication: Investigations conducted with a view to establishing an internationally accepted, fully recognised accreditation of a given work of art.

  • Attribution: Identifying and confirming the identity of an anonymous artist, studio or workshop from which an unsigned and previously unqualified work of art originated. One not formerly known or positively identified before.

  • Confirmation: Conducting investigative research and undertaking a full investigation to confirm the provenance, lineage and history of ownership of a work of art.

  • Revision: Re-examining & investigating an erstwhile previously ascribed historical artist's attribution which is incorrect. One otherwise doubted or has been formally challenged.

  • Scrutiny: Identifying deliberate fakes & forgeries and determining those which are studio or later student copies. Including those works of art that may have been previously misrepresented, or given wrongful attributions.

  • Prosecution: Investigating alleged art fraud, fakes and forgery and assisting those prosecuting the fact. Be they legal, civil or criminal prosecutors.

 The world recognises only too well, the identities of the greatest artists amongst the Impressionist movement, as well as they knowthe Expressionists and other Modern art impresarios. Artists of both the two dimensional and three dimensional genres.

But the ever growing list of artists who are lesser mortals is extensive, in a world wide art collector market that values their works of art in the hundreds and hundreds of thousands and above the millions of dollars too.

The list that follows below are just some of the names of which questions of authenticity and legitimacy have been asked. Some sadly more regularly than others and questions asked justifiably so, in a world where art fraud and forgery at all levels, is rife.

Before you begin any art authentication investigation:

* Before entering into a full investigation of the legitimacy of a work of art, it is essential to know if the project is viable to invest in.

 So we prefer to make a preliminary professional pre-authentication assessment for clients first. This is based upon the images you supply, the full details and the work of art's history.

This is a logical and cost effective professional assessment and advisory for which there is a modest set fee.

Please see our FAQ's which explains the process in detail.
